The Pierz Police Department Monday night announce they were searching for a missing 64-year-old female resident at Meadow Ponds Assisted Living located in the City of Pierz. Phyllis Cloud left the residence and was last seen riding her red bike within the city limits and did not return to the facility. As she is insulin dependent a search started through the night. The Morrison County Sheriff's Office reported at  7:25am she had been located and was safe Tuesday morning. They thanked all who assisted in the search. 

The Morrison County Sheriff's Office reported that there will be Drone education and presentation this Thursday at the Morrison County Fair from 4-6pm. All are welcome to watch the demonstrations.

A 47-year-old Brainerd man was arrested Saturday, June 13, after he assaulted another man and fled from officers in Crow Wing County. The Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office responded at 10:17 p.m. to North Central Speedway, 9651 Business 371, for a report of an assault. When deputies arrived, they learned a 47-year-old Brainerd man had allegedly assaulted a 45-year-old Brainerd man and fled the scene. Deputies then went to a Nisswa residence on the 2400 block of South Clark Lake Road, where the man was known to frequent. At 11 p.m. and while deputies were at the home, the suspect drove by the house. Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle when it fled, traveling down County Highway 13 at speeds of 85 to 95 miles per hour. Due to the excessive speeds, the suspect was not able to make the turn onto County Highway 4 and crashed into the woods at the intersection around 11:05 p.m. The driver was taken into custody and charges are pending from the Crow Wing County Attorney’s Office for fleeing, driving on a canceled license, driving while intoxicated and multiple counts of assault, the sheriff's office reported.

A 47-year-old Princeton man was arrested Wednesday, June 3, after he allegedly went to meet someone posing as a child in Crow Wing County. Robert Scott Anderson was charged June 5 in Crow Wing County District Court with six counts of felony possession of child sexual abuse material. During his initial appearance, Anderson was assigned a public defender and given an unconditional bail/bond of $300,000 and $150,000 with conditions. As of Monday, June 22, Anderson remained in custody in the Crow Wing County Jail. Anderson is due back in court on July 8.

An elderly man was rescued from a riverbank after he walked away from a St. Cloud medical facility on Monday. The St. Cloud Police Department responded to a missing person report just after 5:00 p.m. in the 1900 block of CentraCare Circle. Officers arrived to find a 75-year-old man, considered to be a vulnerable adult, had walked away from a medical clinic in the area. He was brought to St. Cloud Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The Crow Wing County Sheriff's is reminding motorists that large amounts of traffic are expected starting Wednesday night and lasting through the weekend as Lakes Jam is performed at Brainerd International Raceway. The large music show starts with Chris Hawkey Wednesday night, Chris Cagle, Terri Clark and Neal McCoy on Thursday, Dasha and Tucker Wetmore Friday, John Ross and Bailey Zimmerman on Saturday. Expect delays around the raceway area before and after the shows over the next three to four days in the Brainerd area for the Lakes Jam Music Festival. The sheriff's office is also asking motorists to watch speeds, distracted driving and drinking and driving as extra law enforcement will be out watching.

The Portland Trail Blazers have hired Minnesota Timberwolves lead assistant Micah Nori as the franchise's new head coach, the team announced Tuesday. Nori is widely regarded as one of the league's top assistants and has been in the NBA coaching ranks since 2009. Nori's deal has just one guaranteed year, with options on the second and third year.
