The Little Falls Community High School Homecoming Parade is Friday at 2pm. The parade route is similar to previous years, starting at the Middle School Parking Lot, then past the tennis courts, around the back of the High School then down 9th to Lindbergh Elementary  and then left on 1st down behind St. Mary's Church on 5th and back around to the high school to finish. A reminder that those roads around the parade route will be closed Friday between 2-3pm in southeast Little Falls. The high school also has a pep fest in the morning and the game is Friday night at 7pm at the high school and heard live on AM960 KLTF.

Traffic patterns on Veterans Drive/8th Street North will change next week due to sidewalk construction work in the area. Starting Monday, September 22, 2025, eastbound traffic between 31st Avenue North and 26th Avenue North will be moved to the inside lane, with the outer eastbound lane temporarily closed to vehicles. Then, beginning Monday, September 29, 2025, westbound traffic from 26th Avenue North to 31st Avenue North will shift to the inside lane while the outer westbound lane remains closed. City officials say the changes are expected to remain in effect through mid-October, weather permitting. Those traveling through the construction zone are asked to allow extra time and  watch out for work crews and equipment. The city recommends considering alternate routes when possible to minimize delays during peak travel times.

St. Cloud’s Adopt-a-Drain program will be part of National Stormwater Awareness Week. The Central Minnesota Water Education Alliance says the initiative asks the community to “adopt” a nearby storm drain and be responsible for its maintenance by regularly clearing it of leaves, trash, and other debris. Officials explained that with regular cleaning, it prevents localized flooding while also protecting rivers, lakes, creeks, ponds, and wetlands from harmful pollutants that would otherwise flow in during storms. It does not require any special skills or equipment. Community members interested in participating can begin by selecting a storm drain in their area and committing to regular maintenance, with particular attention needed before and after rainfall when debris accumulation typically peaks. The program also encourages the organization of neighborhood cleanup events that can be coordinated with ongoing Adopt-a-Drain activities. Those who are interested can email info@h2youmn.com or calling 320-255-7226.  National Stormwater Awareness Week is scheduled for September 22nd through the 26th to encourage participation in programs such as Adopt-a-Drain to help draw attention to conservation efforts aimed at protecting water resources.

The next Pierz City Council meeting is Monday at 7pm at Pierz City Hall.

National News: Turning Point USA, the organization Charlie Kirk founded to mobilize young, Christian conservatives, has seen a massive surge in interest and support since the activist's assassination last week. As many mourn Kirk’s death, the group appears poised to remain a MAGA juggernaut as it plots its future without Kirk at the helm. The group's board announced Thursday that Kirk’s widow, Erika Kirk, had been unanimously elected as its next leader and will serve as CEO and board chair. “This was what Charlie hoped for and wanted and he said so numerous times," Tyler Bowyer, the group’s chief operating officer, said on social media. “Erika is one with Charlie and Charlie is one with Erika.” Turning Point became a multimillion-dollar operation under Charlie Kirk's leadership, and was credited with helping to return President Donald Trump to office. Since Kirk's killing, his podcast and social media have attracted millions of new followers. There has been an outpouring of interest in expanding Turning Point's footprint on college and high school campuses, the group's spokesperson says, and future large-scale events are continuing as planned.
