A 15-year-old girl from Rice was hurt when she crashed her dirt bike on Wednesday. The incident happened just after 5:30 p.m. on 450th Street in Two Rivers Township, about three miles southeast of Bowlus. The Morrison County Sheriff's Office says the girl was riding the bike westbound on 450th Street while a car was heading eastbound. The driver of the car, 25-year-old Chloe Supan of Bowlus, was going to make a left turn into a driveway and was struck by the dirt bike. The sheriff's office says the girl was thrown from the bike and hit the windshield of the car. The girl was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. She was taken by ambulance to St. Cloud Hospital with unknown injuries. Supan was not hurt in the crash.

While federal prosecutors sought a 50-year prison sentence, a judge Thursday morning gave the central figure in the $300 million Feeding Our Future meal fraud case over 40 years in prison. Aimee Bock, the former executive director of the nonprofit, was convicted last year of masterminding the largest COVID-era fraud case in the U.S., according to officials. U.S. District Judge Nancy Brasel handed down the 500-month (41.6 years) sentence at a packed federal courthouse in downtown Minneapolis Thursday morning. Bock was also ordered to pay $242 million in restitution. Minutes before Judge Brasel issued the sentence, Bock herself spoke to the court, crying, apologizing to the court and the public, saying, "I wish I could do it all over," and that she never intended for things to get out of hand. "The fraud in these public programs has gotten to epic proportions. The judge sent the message that this will not be tolerated and it will be dealt with seriously," said Joe Thompson, former U.S. attorney for Minnesota.
