A man is dead after a workplace accident in Cold Spring early Thursday morning. The Cold Spring/Richmond Police Department responded to a medical emergency at Pilgrim's just after 1:15 a.m. The facility is located in the 800 block of River Road in Cold Spring. Police say a 29-year-old employee was pinned beneath equipment in the loading dock area. By the time officers arrived, coworkers had removed the man from the equipment. The man was given emergency medical care, but the efforts were unsuccessful, and he was ultimately pronounced dead at the scene. The employee was taken to the Midwest Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy. The incident remains under investigation, and the victim's name has not been released to the public at this time.

A reminder from Little Falls Police and local law enforcement that in the past week there has been an uptick in accidents that has snarled traffic along Highway 27 at the Mississippi River Bridge and also by the North end Casey's store coming from the road by the old Crestliner building. Again road work is going on County Road 76/Haven Road north of that point to County Road 48 and some you will need to slow down, watch visibility issues, expect delays and some roads could have no access for times when work crews are going through that area. Also when trains are present expect slow down and delays in downtown Little Falls. Police stated that there have not been any serious injury accidents from these along with the sheriff's office but speed and not paying attention to the road is major issues at this time.

One person was injured Thursday afternoon at 12:45pm on Highway 15 in Stearns County near St. Augusta. 66-year-old Karen Pilarski of Clear Lake was on County Road 47 and collided with a Mak truck in the intersection with Highway 15. Pilarski was taken to St. Cloud Hospital with non life threatening injuries. The driver and passenger inside the Mak Straight Truck were not injured in the accident.
